Who we are

The BeautySmith Academy ("we", "us") is a vocational beauty training school at Dansoman Asoredanho (behind the KFC), Accra, Ghana. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us on 050 110 5427 or admissions@beautysmithartistry.com.

What we collect

When you apply for a course we collect: your full name, date of birth, gender, phone and WhatsApp numbers, email address, location, education background, beauty experience, career goal, chosen package and courses, and your payment method and transaction reference. You may optionally upload a passport photograph, a national ID and previous certificates.

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, phone number and message. When you use the student portal we process your attendance, assessment results, payment history and class schedule.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

• To process your application and enrol you — necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract.
• To verify your admission form fee and tuition payments — necessary for our contract with you and for our legal accounting obligations.
• To contact you about your training — class schedules, fee reminders, results and certificates, by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
• To issue your NVTI certificate — we share the minimum required details with the National Vocational Training Institute.
• Marketing — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying STOP to any SMS or telling any member of staff.

Applicants under 18

We accept students from age 16. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must give consent during registration, and we will share information about your attendance, progress and fees with them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with: the National Vocational Training Institute (for certification), our SMS provider USMSGH (your phone number, to deliver messages), our payment providers and bank (to confirm payments), and where required by Ghanaian law.

How long we keep it

Unsuccessful applications are deleted after 12 months. Student records, including assessment results and certificate details, are kept for 7 years so we can verify your qualification if you or an employer asks. Payment records are kept for 6 years to meet accounting requirements. Uploaded ID documents are deleted once your enrolment is confirmed.

How we protect it

Applications are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access to student records is limited to academy staff who need it. Student portal access codes are personal to you — do not share them.

Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you may ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete data we no longer need, or stop using it for marketing. Contact us using the details above and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people find us. These record anonymised usage, not your identity. Your browser settings can block them. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles without your consent.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
